WA Kaolin Limited (ASX : WAK) (Receivers and Managers Appointed) (Administrators Appointed) (“the Company”)
The Company presents a unique opportunity for strategic investors or industry participants to acquire a significant kaolin producing asset in East Wickepin, Western Australia, which includes a fully permitted Processing Plant together with R&D facilitity in Kwinana, WA.
The Company currently is in both Receivership and Voluntary Administration with Simon Cathro and Andrew Blundell appointed as the Receivers and Managers. The Receivers and Managers are now seeking Expressions of Interest for the recapitalisation (including the corporate ASX-listed shell) or acquisition of the assets of the Company.
About the opportunity:
The Company’s main asset and mine is located 220 kms South-East of Perth, in East Wickepin, with a smaller R&D facility located in Kwinana.The principal assets include the fully permitted and commissioned processing plant, the smaller processing plant, two open pit mines and extensive opportunity for further expansion with an estimated 64 million tonnes of high-grade, easy access kaolinite.

Processing Plant
- Fully permitted processing plant commissioned in September 2022.
- Proprietary dry processing method known as K99.
- Currently in care & maintenance with relatively modest capital required to re-establish operations, with established infrastructure on site.
Deposits
- The project comprises four retention licences (R70/40, R70/42, R70/43 and R70/44) and a single mining lease (M70/1143)
- The total tenement area exceeds 10,000 hectares.
- Total Ore Reserve Estimate (JORC 2012) is 64.9 million tonnes.
